Privacy notice

This notice describes the Cloze Reader private beta. It will be reviewed before public commercial release.

Information stored on your Mac

Imported PDFs and saved card drafts remain on your device unless you choose an AI feature or sync a card to Anki.

Information sent for AI generation

When you request AI assistance, Cloze Reader sends the selected text or screenshot, relevant page context, Study Profile, and revision instructions to the Cloze Reader service and OpenAI. Review generated cards for accuracy before using them.

Account and billing information

Supabase handles account identity and authentication. The Cloze Reader service stores the account identifier, email address, subscription state, usage ledger, and desktop sessions. Stripe handles checkout and payment details; Cloze Reader does not store full card numbers.

Retention and security

AI request results may be retained for up to 25 hours for safe retry handling. Usage and billing records are retained as needed to operate the account, reconcile payments, prevent duplicate charges, and resolve disputes. Service credentials are kept on the server.

Your choices

You may cancel through Manage billing. Cancellation does not delete PDFs or saved cards on your Mac. During the private beta, contact the person who invited you to request account deletion, data access, or correction.

Changes

This notice may change as the beta develops. A revised effective date will appear at the top of this page.
